1971 Land Rover Series 3

The Land Rover are compact British off-road vehicles produced by the Rover Company since 1948 and later by British Leyland. Inspired by the World War II jeep, it was the first mass-produced civilian four-wheel drive car with doors. Due to post-war steel shortage, and aluminium surplus, Land Rovers received non-rusting aluminium alloy bodies and in 1992, Land Rover claimed that 70% of all the vehicles they had built were still in use.
This Land Rover Series 3 has undergone a full nut and bolt restored over the past few years with excellent attention to detail, with no expense spared.
Right Hand Drive, Petrol 2.25L, Manual 4 speed gearbox with Fairey Overdrive.
The car runs and drives wonderfully - the engine runs very smoothly and, as you can imagine, it drives very nicely with no knocks or bangs. The drive train is perfect and bulkhead is clean with no rust. It has been fitted with a brand new Autosparks complete Wiring Loom (Main, Engine, Chassis and Brake Warning).
The car benefits from a galvanised chassis and has had endless new and restored original parts fitted as part of it's restoration, including new Mintex brake shoes and TRW cylinders on all corners (front has upgraded dual cylinders), new Kunifer brake pipes with brass fittings and Girling hoses, new stainless steel exhaust and Maxxis Tyres fitted all round, including the spare. The axles are fitted with Fairey Free Wheeling Hubs.
The car was resprayed at the time of the restoration and has been finished in a satin Marine Blue Body and Limestone Cream Roof.
