Locations: Petworth
The Fordson Major was a line of iconic agricultural tractors produced by Ford Motor Company in Dagenham, England, between 1945 and 1964. It is celebrated for its rugged simplicity, reliability, and its distinctive "Empire Blue" paint with orange/red wheels. The line evolved through several major iterations, moving from basic post-war utility to the more advanced "Super" and "New Performance" models that brought the tractor into the modern era.
This Fordson Major has certainly had a life, most of which has been spent in Sussex.
The engine is dated 1964 and is of the FL Super Major type, which will require some work. It does turn over with a pry bar on the ring gear however is stiff to rotate. The oil is clean and was full of coolant, there looks to be no frost damage.
The Fordson is very much a project, it is very complete as seen in the pictures, if nothing else would be a great source for spares.
