1961 Riley One Point Five
Sold
Location: Cranleigh
The Riley One-Point-Five was originally intended as a replacement for the Morris Minor. However, the unfading popularity of the Minor lead to the continued manufacture of the Minor as well as the creation of the Riley One-Point-Five which used BMCs 1489cc B-Series engine, with the floor pan, steering and suspension of the Morris Minor.
This is a special little car which has been subtly modified to improve performance dramatically. It has been fitted with the engine, gearbox and rear axle from a 1800cc MG B complete with overdrive. These period modifications are a fantastic addition and the car drives brilliantly. It also benefits from uprated suspension and wider wheels with brand new tyres which means it handles great. The drive train is in good order and thanks to the overdrive, which works perfectly, the car can easily keep up with modern day traffic.
The body work is in good order - there is absolutely no corrosion to the underside and any work has been carried out to a high standard. The paintwork is generally good but has been touched up in a number of areas.
The car is MOT and TAX exempt, including ULEZ compliant. Current V5 is present.
