1957 Vauxhall Velox
Sold
Location: Petworth
The Vauxhall Velox is a six-cylinder executive car which was produced by Vauxhall from 1948 to 1965. The Velox was a large family car, directly competing in the UK with the contemporary six-cylinder Ford Zephyr, and to a slightly lesser extent, with the A90, A95, and A110 Austin Westminster models.
This Vauxhall Velox was first registered on the 17th April 1957 in Oxford, more recently it has spent a number of years in Hampshire.
The 6 cylinder engine starts and runs faultlessly. It has bags of power and pulls along nicely.
The drivetrain is very smooth and the gear changes are effortless. It handles very well and genially is a pleasure to drive.
The body is very solid and there is no evidence of corrosion to the underside. Although the paintwork has been finished to a high standard, it has now mellowed, and isn’t immaculate but does polish up and present well.
The interior is in great shape, there are no rips or tears and the seats are very comfortable.
