1954 Fordson (Thames) E83W
Sold
Location: Cranleigh
The Fordson E83W, that was also sold from 1952 under the Thames brand as a Thames E83W, is a 10 cwt light commercial vehicle that was built by Ford of Britain at the Ford Dagenham assembly plant between 1938 and 1957.
This little 1954 Thames truck has been subject to an extensive restoration over the last few years and, with all the hard work complete, is now being offered as an easy project which just needs finishing off.
In a striking red and cream color way, the cab has had extensive work - there is no corrosion and the paint work is tidy, although would benefit from extra work if you wished to bring it up to a concours standard. Inside the interior has been retrimmed, with only a small amount of work left to do.
Moving to the outside of the truck, the underside is in very good order with no corrosion. It has benefited from a new wooden body which is very well made and comes with a new canvas tilt for the rear.
The engine has been rebuilt during the restoration with no expense spared.
Comes complete with manuals and is road registered with V5 present.
