1948 Standard 8 Tourer
£9,500
Location: Petworth
The Standard 8 Tourer was originally launched in 1938 as the Flying Eight. After the Second World War the Flying range of Standards was dropped but an updated car called the 8 hp was re-introduced in 1945.
This 1948 Standard 8 Tourer car is in superb condition and genuinely as good as it looks in the pictures. It has benefited from a considerable amount of money spent on it in recent years.
The engine is very sweet, it starts and runs very well, there is no frost damage and has a new radiator, 6V battery as well as a full stainless steel exhaust fitted.
The drivetrain is in good order, the gears are direct and the clutch very smooth. It drives along very nicely and pulls well for a little car. It has new tyres all round and is a pleasure to drive.
The paintwork is stunning and near concourse condition. There is no corrosion across the car and both the bodywork and underside are as nice as each other!
The interior was trimmed at the time of the restoration and is as lovey as the exterior with no tips or tears.
The car comes full full wet weather including a brand new hood and side screens.
Car comes complete with history and paperwork including the current V5.
