1947 MG TC
Sold
Location: Cranleigh
The TC Midget, launched in 1945, was the first post-war MG. Similar to the pre-war TB, with the same 1,250 cc pushrod-OHV engine, it had a slightly higher compression ratio giving it more power and speed. In addition, MG also provided information for several alternative stages of tuning for "specific purposes".
This TC is a fantastic little vehicle. With its previous owner for 30 years, it has very much been cared for during their ownership.
Mechanically, the car drives and responds very well. It has the correct factory reconditioned XPAG engine, which has been freshened up in more recent years, and the transmission is very smooth with no noises. The brakes are in very good order. We used it last weekend for an event and we’re very impressed with the way it performed.
The paintwork, although not immaculate, is in very good overall condition and there is no corrosion. The woodwork is also in very good order and the interior, which was replaced to a high standard, is still as good as the day it was fitted.
There is paperwork and history included with the car.
