1936 Morris 8
£6,750
Location: Petworth
The Morris Eight is a small family car produced by Morris Motors from 1935 to 1948 and was inspired by the popularity of the Ford Model Y. The success of the car enabled Morris to regain its position as Britain's largest motor manufacturer.
This Morris 8 was first registered on the 22nd May 1936 in Birmingham and in more recent times has spent a number of years in Surrey.
The engine starts and runs very nicely, it has good oil pressure and sounds great. There is no frost damage, and is fitted with a stainless steel exhaust system.
The drivetrain is in good order, there are no nasty noises, the clutch is smooth and the gears direct. It handles very well and is probably one of the best driving Morris 8's around. The wheels have been recently refurbished and new tyres fitted all round.
The bodywork is very solid and clean underneath. It is likely that the Morris was finished to a concours standard when first restored, and although now not immaculate it is still very nice with room for improvement if you wish.
The interior has also been retrimmed and still as good as the day it was completed, which matching carpets and new head lining.
The car is TAX and MOT exempt and comes complete with a history file and current V5.
