1936 Morris 8
Sold
Location: Cranleigh
The Morris Eight is a small family car produced by Morris Motors from 1935 to 1948. The car, inspired by the popularity of the Ford Model Y, helped Morris regain its position as Britain's largest motor manufacturer.
This Morris 8 is a slightly more unusual model being a 4 door saloon. It starts and runs well and has just had a brand new 6V battery fitted. Like with all Morris 8s it’s fitted with an SU carb and hydraulic brakes, perfect for modern day driving. The gearbox and drive train are quiet, gear change is smooth and the clutch is easy to operate. The wheels have recently been refurbished and brand new tyres have been fitted.
It is an older restoration and was clearly finished to a high standard at the time. Although, externally, it is far from perfect now, it is still very respectable. The interior is in lovely condition and has received new carpets along with a new headlining. The leather seats are in very nicely original condition.
