1936 Austin 18/6 Hertford
Sold
Location: Cranleigh
The 18/6 Austin that was made between 1934 and 1936 was 2510cc, 65 bhp at 3400 rpm. Although the 18 could be purchased as a saloon or limousine as standard, many special bodies were also offered.
This Austin 18/6 Hertford was first registered on the 2nd March 1936 in London, more recently it has spent a number of years in Hampshire.
The engine is very sweet, it's very smooth and runs lovely with bags of power. It has great oil pressure, there is no frost damage and it has been fitted with a new fuel pump as well as a reconditioned carburettor.
The drivetrain is as smooth as the engine, it goes along very nicely with no nasty noises. The gears are direct and the clutch is smooth, it handles well and is fitted with new tyres all round.
The body is very solid, the paintwork isn't immaculate but does present well. The interior has been retrimmed at some point to a high standard, it also has occasional seats fitted.
We have a large history file included buff logbooks as well as the current V5.
