1936 Austin 10/4 Sherborne

Sold

Location: Cranleigh

The Sherborne body style was added to the Austin range in late 1935 but production was short, until August 1936, making it one of the rarer models. The style was much more in keeping with a then fashionable 'Airline' Style boasting a sweeping roof line and extra deep rear seating with armrests.

This oily rag Austin 10/4 Sherborne is a lovely example. Having been maintained and cared for throughout its life, the "barn find" condition has been maintained well.

The car comes with a nice amount of paperwork, including its original buff logbook, which details some of its history. It starts and runs well and has benefited from an engine rebuild as well as, more recently, a new radiator. The 12V electrics all work and a new battery has been fitted.

The exterior is very much as it looks in the pictures - lots of rustic charm but very straight and very solid. The interior was retrimmed to a high standard, with the headlining in particularly fabulous condition.
