1935 Austin 7 Ulster
Sold
Location: Cranleigh
The original Austin 7 ‘Ulster’ was a boat-tailed two-seater which was based on the Austin 7 saloon and proved to be successful in the Tourist Trophy races on the Ards circuit in Ulster.
This fantastic little car really is something special. It has some very special period features, from its up-rated suspension to the modified running gear.
It drives along very nicely and handles fantastically. The engine was rebuilt at the time of restoration and has had no expense spared. Upgrades fitted included a performance head, 4 into 1 branch manifold, SU carburetor and upgraded inlet manifold to suit. The gearbox was also reworked, and now features close ratio gears.
As you can see, this is a great example of an Ulster. The striking red body is made by the renowned Chris Gould, who has produced a number of bodies over the years and is renowned and respected in the Austin 7 world. The car is in very good condition and the interior is no exception.
The V5 is present with some history, including paperwork supporting its modifications and rebuild. The car is well known with some Austin 7 enthusiasts and we would be happy to make the introductions.
A firm favourite at RS Vintage and we have really enjoyed having this beauty with us.
