1935 Austin 7 Ruby
£5,650
Location: Petworth
The Ruby and Pearl model were introduced towards the end of the Seven production and represented quite a refined car compared with its earlier siblings. The interior was well trimmed, the seats comfortable and it had a front opening windscreen, sliding sunroof and wind-down windows to the front and rear. Still powered by the 747cc engine, the four-speed gearbox boasted synchromesh in 2nd, 3rd and fourth gears.
This Austin 7 Ruby was first registered on 1st December 1935 and recently has spent a number of years in Woking.
The engine starts and runs well, there is no frost damage and or leaks. It has good oil pressure and a new 6V battery fitted.
The drivetrain is in good order, all gears are direct and it drives like a typical Austin 7.
The bodywork is solid and the underside in good order, the paintwork isn’t immaculate but shines up nicely and presents well.
The interior is very original, generally in good condition and the headlining looks to have been replaced at some point.
The car is an older restoration and like most vehicles of this type allows for room for improvement. We have a history file including the current V5.
