1935 Austin 7 Ruby
Sold
Location: Petworth
The Ruby and Pearl model were introduced towards the end of the Seven production and represented quite a refined car compared with its earlier siblings. The interior was well trimmed, the seats comfortable and it had a front opening windscreen, sliding sunroof and wind-down windows to the front and rear. Still powered by the 747cc engine, the four-speed gearbox boasted synchromesh in 2nd, 3rd and fourth gears.
This Austin 7 Ruby was first registered on the 1st February 1935 in Maidstone, more recently it has spent a number of years in Sussex.
The engine starts and runs well, it has a new 6V battery and new fuel pump. The drivetrain is typical of any Austin 7, there are no nasty noises, the gears are direct and the little car bombs along.
The body is very solid and the underside clean and tidy. The car has a lovely look about it, if you like oily rag cars with patina and character you will love it. It’s a car that can be driven whatever the weather.
The interior has likely been retrimmed at some point, and remains in good order all round.
We do have a small history file including the current V5.
