1935 Austin 18/6 York
Sold
Location: Balls Cross
The 18/6 Austin that was made between 1934 and 1936 was 2510cc, 65 bhp at 3400 rpm. Although the 18 could be purchased as a saloon or limousine as standard, many special bodies were also offered.
This 1935 Austin 18/6 was first registered in Chester.
The engine is very sweet and runs faultlessly, the oil pressure is good, there is no frost damage, it starts well and has plenty of power. It has a new stainless steel exhaust as well as a new battery.
The drive train is as you would expect, there are no nasty noises and is a pleasure to drive. The gears are direct and the brakes work well. It handles the road nicely and is fitted with new tyres all round.
The bodywork is very solid, the paintwork isn't immaculate but it does present well and polishes up nicely. The underside is as clean as the top, with no corrosion to the chassis or body. The interior is in good order, there are no rips or tears to the seats and a new carpet has been fitted.
