1935 Austin 10/4 Lichfield

Sold

Location: Cranleigh

The Austin Ten is a small car that was produced by Austin. It was launched on 19 April 1932 and was Austin's best-selling car in the 1930s and continued in production, with upgrades, until 1947.

This Austin 10/4 Lichfield was originally registered in Luton on the 31st of July 1935. Where in more recent times it has spent the last 30 odd years in West Sussex.

The engine starts and runs very well, it has good oil pressure and all fluids are in the correct places, the 12V charging system is in working correctly and has had a new battery recently. Indicators have been added for modern day driving.

The drivetrain is in good order, the clutch is as an Austin 10 should be and the gears direct. The car handles well and has had new tyres and inner tubes.

The body is very solid and is as clean in the underside as it is on top, we are lead to believe by the previous owner that the paintwork is original. It has a lot of patina and character, so is certainly along the lines of a genuine car, as you can see it shines very nicely and has a good look about it.

The interior is very much along the lines of the exterior, largely original but does have new carpets and new front seat swobs.

We do have a history file and the V5 is present.
