1933 Austin 7 Ulster
Sold
Location: Cranleigh
The original Austin 7 ‘Ulster’ was a boat-tailed two-seater which was based on the Austin 7 saloon and proved to be successful in the Tourist Trophy races on the Ards circuit in Ulster.
This car is something special and, with period modifications to both the running gear and suspension, it’s probably the best handling Austin 7 we have ever driven.
The engine has received lots of attention and has been heavily upgraded. Too many to list but highlights include a Pigsty high lift cam, lightened flywheel and a strengthened crank - contact us for a full list of specifications.
An external oil filter and pressure fed system makes for easy maintenance and, we think, better than the original set up. With a Bowdenex wide track front axle and shock absorbers front and rear, it really does stick to the road. Finally, a hydraulic brake conversion really finishes off the upgrade package nicely.
The body is a genuine Chris Gould GRP. We were told the car was originally used for racing many moons ago and more recently benefited from a total rebuilt. The paintwork is very nice indeed and the interior although very minimal has no rips or tears.
TAX and MOT exempt.
