1931 Austin 7 AG Tourer
Sold
Location: Cranleigh
The Austin 7 is an economy car that was produced in the UK from 1923 until 1939. Nicknamed the "Baby Austin", at that time it was one of the most popular cars produced for the British market. Its impact in the UK was similar to that of the Model T Ford in the US, replacing most other British economy cars and cyclecars of the early 1920s.
This 1931 Austin 7 Tourer is one of the models that replaced the earlier "Chummy" version. We have had the pleasure of using this car ourselves for a local charity road run and, can confirm, it’s a splendid little car and great to drive.
Benefiting from some period modifications the car starts and runs very well. 12V electrics and an SU carburettor means that the maintenance on this car is very minimal. There is no frost damage, new tyres have been fitted all round and all the fluids are in the correct places.
Painted in the familiar maroon red, the paint work is of a very high standard and is as good as it looks. Further complimenting the outside, the interior is also very nice and has no rips or tears.
The car comes with full wet weather sets including side screens.
TAX and MOT exempt.
