Location: Cranleigh
The Riley Nine was one of the most successful light sporting cars produced by the British motor industry in the inter war period. It was made by the Riley company of Coventry, England with a wide range of body styles between 1926 and 1938.
This Riley 9 Monaco was first registered in Worcester on the 6th December 1930. It was supplied new by Derick Butcher of Station Hill, Kidderminster and the original suppliers plate is still in place, in more recent times the car has spent the last 10 years in West Sussex.
The Riley runs very well, it sounds great and has a lovely engine. It has had a full coil conversion fitted, as well as a new 12V battery, there is no frost damage and all fluids are in the correct places.
The drivetrain is in good order, it drives very nicely the gears are direct and the clutch smooth. It handles the road well and there are no nasty noises.
The Weymann fabric body is largely original, and has a great look about it, the paintwork has been restored and finished to a high standard. The interior again very original has been replaced or repaired where necessary.
We have the current V5 present as well as a history file.
