1929 Swift 10HP P Type Coupe

Sold

Location: Cranleigh

The Swift Motor Company made Swift Cars in Coventry, England from 1900 until 1931. After the First World War a successful range was sold during the 1920s, but the Cadet of 1930 was its last vehicle as it could not compete economically with volume manufacturers such as Ford and Morris Motors.

This Swift 10HP Type P was first registered on the 15th August 1929 in Middlesex, and in recent times it has spent a number of years in Lincolnshire.

The engine is very sweet, and runs like a sewing machine. It's very quiet and has great oil pressure, it pulls well and has plenty of power.

The drivetrain is genuinely lovely, it drives very well, the gear change is direct and the clutch smooth. It handles well, fitted with new tyres all round and has a surprisingly good turn of speed.

The bodywork has great character, its very much along the lines of an oily rag car so if you like patina you will like this. The interior is very original, and the dickey seat matches the front, the hood is in good order with a couple of repairs but water tight.

We have a large amount of history including a VSCC logbook and current V5.
