1929 Austin 7 Chummy

Sold

Location: Cranleigh

The Austin 7 is an economy car that was produced from 1923 until 1939. It was nicknamed the "Baby Austin" and was, at that time, one of the most popular cars produced for the British market. Its effect on the British market was similar to that of the Model T Ford in the US, replacing most other British economy cars of the early 1920s.

This Austin 7 Chummy was first registered on the 21st June 1929 in Guildford. It has been part of an Austin collection since the 80's and now found its way back with us in Surrey.

The engine starts and runs very well, it has a new 6V battery fitted, there is no frost damage or coolant leaks.

The drivetrain is in good order, no nasty noises and the gears are direct. The brakes work well and the car handles nicely, with new tyres fitted all round.

The body is in good order, and although this car has likely been restored at some point it is now more along the lines of oily rag condition. The interior has been retrimmed to a good standard, and there are no rips or tears.

It comes complete with full wet weather gear including side screens. The hood is in good order with no rips or tears.

The car is MOT and TAX exempt and we do have some history and paperwork.

Please feel free to contact us for further information or to arrange a viewing - a walk around video is available that can be shared.
