1928 Rolls Royce 20HP Horsfield Tourer
£33,500
Location: Petworth
The Rolls-Royce Twenty was Rolls-Royce's "small car", produced from 1922 to 1929 alongside the 40/50 Silver Ghost and the successor to the 40/50, the Phantom. It was intended to appeal to owner-drivers but many were sold to customers with chauffeurs.
This Rolls Royce 20HP was first registered on the 31st January 1928 in Bristol and in more recent times has spent some time in Hampshire.
The car has had a ground up restoration, the engine has been rebuilt with invoices to prove and has been fitted with an aluminium cylinder head, it starts and runs very well and sounds great.
The drivetrain is in lovely order, it drives very nicely, the clutch and gears are direct and there are no nasty noises. It also has had an overdrive fitted which is an excellent modification for long distance driving.
The Horsfield body was restored in the style of a barrel sided tourer. It remains in very good order, of course new ash frame and paint at the time of the restoration. The paintwork has been finished to a very high standard and although not immaculate it is very nice.
The interior was retrimmed and is still as good as the day it was fitted, there are no rips or tears and it also comes complete with a full tonneau cover as well as full wet weather gear including side screens.
