1927 Sunbeam 16.9HP

The Sunbeam Sixteen (16.9 hp) was a highly successful and refined volume-production car built by the Sunbeam Motor Car Company at their Moorfields factory in Wolverhampton, England, spanning production from 1926 to 1933.

This Sunbeam Sixteen was first registered on the 1st December 1927 in Birmingham, more recently it had found its way south to the Isle Of Wight.

The engine starts and runs well, it genuinely sounds great and has good oil pressure. It goes well and there is also evidence of an engine rebuild in the paperwork.

The drivetrain is in lovely order, there are no nasty noises, the gear change is direct and the clutch smooth, and is genuinely is a pleasure to drive. It handles well and isn’t a hand full like some pre war cars car be.

The bodywork is very solid, it’s very much of an oily rag or some may say “shabby” condition, it presents well and in our opinion looks fantastic.

The interior is highly original and has a beautiful character. The roof is in good order, and comes complete with a full tonneau cover as well as rear screen.
