1924 Ford Model TT
Sold
Location: Cranleigh
The Ford Model TT, made by Ford, was a truck based on the Ford Model T car, but with a longer wheelbase and a heavier frame and rear axle. When the first three units were produced in 1917, the Model TT was sold as a chassis with the buyer supplying a body but this changed in 1924 when the truck became available with a factory-produced body.
This Model TT is more unusual than the "typical" TT truck, although a left hand drive French example it has English features and styling.
A really well presented vehicle, it has been subject to a major restoration. The English wheels and tyres are in good order and the wooden spokes were replaced when it was restored. The striking brown exterior is just as nice as the rest of the truck, and the contrasting livery has a really nice look about it.
With a modified carburettor, distributor and 12V coil ignition, the truck starts and runs fantastically. It drives well and, compared to some Model Ts, it is easy to drive.
