1919 Ford Model TT

Sold

Location: Cranleigh

The Ford Model TT truck, made by Ford, was based on the more familiar Ford Model T. With a longer wheelbase and heavier frame & rear axle the truck was designed to be more of a commercial vehicle and particularly used by the US and British Military.

This 1919 Ford Model TT originally spent its working days in America and has been imported to the UK more recently.

When the first three units were produced in 1917, the Model TT was sold as just a chassis with the buyer supplying a body and it wasn't until 1924 the truck was available with a factory-produced body. The cab and tin work on this example are in very good order with no corrosion. As an older restoration the paint is showing age related imperfections but is very presentable. The wood work on the back is in very nice condition but could be altered easily if it wasn’t to your design.

Something that sets this TT apart from others is that it's fitted with a Jumbo Giant auxiliary gearbox, giving the driver 3 different ratios that can be changed on the move. It has a 12V electric start and runs well on both battery and magneto.

The TT is UK road registered and ready to use and enjoy.
